Fourteen year old Muslim boy Ahmed Mohamed, who was arrested for bringing a clock to school, which his teachers assumed was a bomb, has gotten the clock back from police, before he and his family's move to Qatar from the US.
“Got my clock back finally!!” Ahmed Mohamed posted on Twitter on Friday evening.
Ahmed took the clock to his high school on Sept. 14 to show it to his teacher, but another teacher thought it could be a bomb, he was suspended from school for three days and detained in Texas.
After his detention, police declared the Muslim boy innocent. Earlier this week Ahmed received and accepted the scholarship which was offered by Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development and he will study at the Doha Academy.
The offer came hours after President Barack Obama invited Ahmed to the White House for Astronomy Night on Monday.
“He’ll make a fine engineer one day” said Congressman Mike Honda.
