A young woman who survived the Boston Marathon bomb explosion was killed in a car crash in Dubai, Northeastern University said Monday.
Victoria McGrath died in a car crash while on a personal trip in Dubai alongside Priscilla Perez Torres, another student from Northeastern University, the school officials said.
"Victoria and Priscilla were vibrant, beloved members of our community," Northeastern University President Joseph E. Aoun said in a statement.
"Their passing leaves a grievous absence in our community and in our hearts. This is a heartbreaking loss to their families, friends, and to all of us in the Northeastern family."
Rescuers helped save McGrath's life in 2013 during the Boston Marathon bombing in the US.
Three people were killed and another 264 were injured when homemade pressure cooker bombs exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon three years ago.
