Founder of Chobani and current CEO Hamdi Ulukaya has announced donating at least half of his wealth which has been estimated at $1.4 billion.

The Turkish born entrepreneur is joining other wealthy personalities in participating in “The Giving Pledge,” which has been initiated by CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Participating in the pledge means promising to give away more than half of your wealth either in their lifetime or in their will.

Ulukaya spiralled to success since first opening in 2007, and led Chobani to become an international brand for Greek-style yoghurt.

The Chobani CEO has told Associated Press that he intends to donate his money for the cause of refugee assistance around the world.
