Republican US presidential candidate Ben Carson arrives to speak at the 2016 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) at National Harbor, Maryland on March 4, 2016.

US Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson officially ended his campaign in the presidential race for the upcoming November 2016 election, on Friday.

Ben Carson declared his decision after he failed to win any of the early states in the race for the presidential election.

"There are a lot of people who love me, they just won't vote for me," Carson said during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

The crowd gave Carson a standing ovation and said that he would continue to be “heavily involved in trying to save the nation.”

Carson announced that he did not see a "political path forward" in his campaign for the party's nomination on Wednesday and did not attend the Republican debate in Michigan on Thursday.
