Armando Iannucci has announced his next project: he is going to direct and write a film adaptation of Fabien Nury’s acclaimed graphic novel ‘The Death of Stalin’.
The book was originally published in French ‘La mort de Staline’ (Death of Stalin) in 2011.
The graphic novel is a satire. It opens in March 1953 during the Soviet dictator’s last days and narrates the chaos of the regime after his death.
It will be Iannucci’s second film, following 2009 made ‘In the Loop.’
No cast details have yet been announced but filming is due to start in 2016.
