Salman Khan, the Bollywood star, who is guilty of killing a homeless man in a hit-and-run incident in Mumbai, performed  at the inaugural Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (Aiba) at Meydan in Dubai.

Reportedly the Bollywood star, who left India to come to Dubai with a special court permission, was in good mood as he attended the ceremony and even  made fun of his jail time.

Khan made an appearance on Friday at the AIBA to give director Sajid Nadiadwala his award  for his movie "Kick."

After receiving the award Nadiadwala said making the movie was so intense that Khan would probably not make any other films for the next few years.

Khan openly made a joke about his jail term and said “That’s because I have no dates available,” referring to his five-year jail term for killing a homeless man in a 2002 hit-and-run driving incident in Mumbai.

This was the first public appearance made by Khan after his jail term was suspended.

Khan, who is convicted of killing a homeless person ,now requires permission from a Mumbai court to leave India.
