Bomb blast targeting governing party official kills 5 people, wounds 2 in central Pakistan

A police officer said on Wednesday that a bomb targeting the office of the governing party lawmaker was detonated in Taunsa city of Punjab province in central Pakistan.

Salim Khan Niazi, a senior local police official, said five people were killed and two others have been wounded in the incident.

Amjad Khosa, member of the national assembly elected from Pakistan’s Muslim League (PML-N) wasn’t at his election office at the time of the explosion.

Police is investigating the explosion.

The incident came two months after Punjab Home Minister, Shuja Khanzada was killed in a suicide attack.
