Floods leave 15 people dead in Southern Central China

Floods kill at least 15 people and compels them to flee from their homes in Southern and Central China

A massive flooding caused by heavy rain, killed more than 15 people and forced to thousands to abandon their homes, many are missing in Southern and central China, officials said on Thursday.

Eight deaths were recorded in the Jiangxi province and 65,000 people were displaced as the Guanxi region had six deaths and many missing. wo deaths were recorded in the Hunan province where more than 2,000 residents were evacuated.   

Many passenger flights were cancelled in the region due to flood waters that rose to more than two metres in some areas.

Heavy rains began in some parts of the country over the weekend and is expected to continue in the upcoming days.
