The worlds largest Apple retail store is set to enter the glamorous world of Dubai in August 2015, taking its place amongst the richest global brands.
The 50,000-sq foot store, which is currently under construction, is expected to be located in the new Fashion District of the mall, however the exact location is yet to be confirmed.
Abu Dhabi’s newly opened Yas Mall is likely to host the second Apple store in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Apple also launched its headquarters in Dubai Emaar Square earlier this year.
In 2011, Apple entered the online Dubai market with the launch of its Online Store. However, Apple products are already being sold by close to 100 authorised resellers across Dubai. Designated re sellers such as Sharaf DG and Jumbo Electronics currently work off the ‘shop-in-a-shop’ concept where a specific area is allocated for Apple products within a store.
Moreover, Apple’s premium reseller iStyle has stores in three different locations across the Emirates.
According to recent data obtained from the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, iPhone is gaining a fair share in the market. While iPhone 5s is noted to be the most popular phone used by consumers in the country, the iPhone 6 mobile handset sales have soared since its launch in the country.
