Aselsan was founded by the Turkish Army Foundation at the end of 1975.

Leading Turkish defence manufacturer ASELSAN announced on Friday that it had signed an agreement with Spain's Indra to work together on railway control systems.

The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding designed to create the framework for future collaboration on railway planning, traffic management, signalling, and control system projects for Turkey and international markets, Aselsan said in a statement.

The two companies also intend to expand their cooperation in non-defence sectors.

“Aside from their defence sector activities, ASELSAN and Indra, who are their own domestic market leaders as well as reliable international market suppliers, cooperatively will be expanding activities in fast-growing non-defence sectors relying on their system solutions,” said the statement.
