Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a reform plan on Monday as part of its integration process into the European Union.
European Union officials say the country’s step is a crucial one, and a precondition for Bosnia’s membership application.
Bosnia has adopted what is called the Reform Agenda, which has been drafted in consensus with the EU and international financial institutions, according to Federica Mogherini, chief of EU foreign policy, and Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn.
The reform plan’s main purpose will be to eradicate the 40 percent of unemployment throughout Bosnia, as well as addressing other socio-economic issues.
Bosnia seems as it still has quite a long way to go, compared to its neighbours, however the set of reforms that the country has intended to adopt, will increase its chances when applying for candidacy of the EU in 2016.
