Greece faces new challenges after the far-right Golden Dawn political party demonstrated in Perama, Athens, in response to the country’s plan to construct a transit camp to house refugees.
Greek riot police were deployed outside the port of Perama, west of Athens, where four Golden Dawn lawmakers protested against the building of the refugee camp along with armed forces personnel.
Golden Dawn’s MP Ilias Kasidiaris was among those protesting at the former military camp.

Greece is under pressure from the European Union to complete screening centers on five islands and increase its capacity to house asylum-seekers and detain refugees facing deportation.
