Italian community divided in two regarding refugees as most fear of terror attack in country

Public opinion in Italy is divided regarding refugees, as one side believes they are escaping from war-torn and poor countries and the other side believes they have almost no chance of finding a job in the country.

However, main driving force of public opinion appears to be fear of terror attack.

Francesco Vozza, a local politician who is leading an effort to curb the refugee influx, said he believes there could be dangerous consequences.

“I think that DAESH is exploiting this migrant crisis to send their fighters into Europe," Vozza said. 

"We cannot know this for sure, because we cannot control the borders."
