Thirteen refugees drown off coast of Turkey while attempting to enter Greece

Greek policeman gives instruction to migrants whose boat stalled at sea while crossing from Turkey to Greece

According to Turkish media reports, 13 refugees drowned off the coast of Turkey on Sunday when an inflatable boat carrying them to Greee collided with a ferry.

Four children were among the victims of the incident. The boat was carrying 46 refugees from the northwestern Turkish port of Canakkale to the Greek island of Lesbos.

According to report, twenty people were rescued and 13 people are still missing.

The Greek coastguard also reported another boat sunk in the Aegean sea close to Lesbos on Sunday and two dozen people are feared to be missing.

The coastguard said that they had rescued 20 people by helicopter sent by EU border agency Frontex, however the survivors said that 26 people were on the boat.
