Senior British military and civilian medics, who created the app, are concerned that people caught up in terror attacks may not know how to respond in the immediate aftermath – when every second counts.

citizenAID is designed to guide the public to react safely, send relevant messages to the emergency services, prioritise the injured, and give life-saving first aid.

In the information age, people have grown inseparable from their smartphones, so could they help in the event of an emergency?

The creators of a new smartphone app, named CitizenAid, hope these gadgets can help. The app is designed to guide the public to administer life-saving first aid, react safely, send relevant messages to emergency services, and prioritise the injured in case of a terror attack.
