Species are going extinct at a rate 1,000 times faster than nature acting alone due to poaching and other human activities.

A study carried out by Britain's Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) finds that many of our assumptions about poaching don't reflect the real picture. According to the report, poaching and wildlife trafficking do not only pose a threat to wildlife but also to humans.

"This crisis is not just about animals. This crisis is also about people,” Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, said.
