A roadside bomb killed a soldier, wounded at least one more in northern Lebanon on Thursday, the National News Agency and a security source said.
A second Lebanese soldier in the same patrol was wounded in the explosion which took place near the town of Arsal close to the Syrian border, the source said, but according to local media reports two more soldiers were also injured.
The explosive device targeted an army convoy northeast of Arsal in the area of Wadi Ata, the source told local media.
Aftermath of the attack, militant hideouts on Arsal’s outskirts were shelled by the army, the source said.
Lebanese troops have been clashing with DAESH and Nusra Front since the Syrian civil war erupted.
Last month, the army killed six DAESH terrorists and arrested 16 in an operation near Arsal.
