A homemade bomb has killed two Egyptian soldiers and injured five others in the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula on Friday, Egyptian officials said in a statement.

The armoured vehicle was targeted, just near a school in the North Sinai provincial capital of El Arish, according to the statement from interior ministry.

In the unstable Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, violence has escalated once again following the fighting between the army and militant groups that left four civilians dead, and killed at least six Egyptian soldiers in roadside bombings.

No group or person has claimed responsibility, yet.

Egypt has been hit by militant attacks over political instability in the country that came after democratically first elected President Mohammed Morsi ousted by military coup in 2013 and thousands of people killed since army coup.
