After calculating how much time ousted Egyptian president actually spent in detention, Egyptian prison authorities announced it exceeds the time of his 3 years verdict.

Mubarak is still wearing a blue suit in the Maadi military hospital by law, in which he has been receiving medical treatment since 2011.

Mubarak’s family started payment procedures, and maintained the right to visit him within the hospital because it is not under the prison’s jurisdiction, awaiting only paying the penalty for his release.

In the case publicly known as “The Presidential palaces”, Mubarak was sentenced to three years in prison along with his two sons, for diverting public funds earmarked to renovate presidential palaces and using the money to upgrade family properties.

Public Prosecutor's Office reported that Mubarak is no longer confined to any pending cases.
