Deadly flash floods in Iran kill 10

Updated Sep 20, 2015

Flash floods killed six in Pakdasht, when a river broke its banks as people were enjoying a picnic, 20km south-east of the capital on Saturday. Four others were also killed in the southern province of Hormozgan as they watched a river flood on Friday night, according to the Iranian media reports.

The rising number of flash floods is caused by deforestation and improper construction near river beds according to the authorities.
