Forces loyal to Libya's government say they've retaken the coastal city of Sirte from Daesh, after six months of intense fighting.

The pro-government forces launched an offensive to retake Sirte six months ago. The capture of Sirte is a major boost for the UN-backed unity government which was formed in Tripoli last year. It was the last significant area under control of the terror group.
