Israeli security forces killed two Palestinian youths at an East Jerusalem Refugee Camp on Saturday, one of whom reportedly injured two ultra-Orthodox Jewish men in a knife attack, an Israeli spokesman said, as violence rages in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians re-erupted recently, following protests by Palestinians in response to Israeli attacks on the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem's Old City and also due to the attempts to change the status quo at the holy site.
On Friday alone, at least seven Palestinians were reported killed, while more than 20 were wounded in violent clashes between Palestinian youth and Israeli forces, east of Gaza City and Khan Yunis, along the Israeli border.
Witnesses reported that Israeli snipers fired at Palestinians from along the border fence, 400 metres away from where they were protesting. Demonstrations were called to march in solidarity with Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
