Violence continued to escalate in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday after Israeli forces raided the Qalandiya refugee camp over an alleged car ramming attempt and shot dead 2 Palestinians, sources reported.
In addition to the deceased - identified as Ahmed Jahajha, 21, and Hikmet Hamdan, 29 - four Palestinians were wounded near a checkpoint at the entrance of Jerusalem, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported.
Israeli military sources have reported that three soldiers were wounded during the incident.
Several hours after the incident, clashes erupted between Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters.
Witnesses said that two cars stationed inside the refugee camp were seen riddled with a large number of bullet holes.
The incident came days after Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian driver whose car rammed into a bus stop in Jerusalem.
Stabbing, gun and car attacks have taken place more frequently in Israeli and Palestinian territories since mid-September.
Since Oct. 1, at least 113 Palestinians have been killed by Israelis in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, while 19 Israelis have been killed in attacks by Palestinians.
