Three rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza, police confirmed on Wednesday, after warning sirens went off in Israel’s border towns.
Four Israeli warplanes immediately responded to various targets in Gaza leading to rising tensions. There are no casualties, police said. No group from Gaza has claimed responsibility for launching the rockets. Israel blamed the Hamas group for the attacks.
Last week a similar incident occurred, whereby a rocket from Gaza had been launched on to Israel falling near the port city of Ashdod.
Israel’s Gaza offensive last summer led to the death of over 2,000 Palestinians, 30 percent of them children.
