Palestinian man, allegedly ramming his car into Israeli troops, was shot and killed by the troops in the village of Hawara near the West Bank city of Nablus December 31, 2015.

Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man on Thursday who allegedly rammed his car into them in the occupied West Bank, Israeli military said.

According to Israeli military officials, a Palestinian drove his car into a group of soldiers, injuring one on a road by the village of Hawara, near the West Bank city of Nablus.

"The assailant was shot by forces on the site, resulting in his death," the military said in a statement.

Thursday's attack is the latest in more than three months of Israeli-Palestinian violence. Palestinian attacks have claimed 21 Israeli lives while at least 131 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, 90 of them allegedly identified by Israel as assailants.
