Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara accepts the resignation of his prime minister and government

Ivory Coast's president Alassane Ouattara accepted the resignation of the country's prime minister and government on Wednesday.

"The establishment of a new government will have better coherence as a goal so the government can be more efficient," Ouattara said in a meeting attended by the media.

Ouattara was elected for a second five-year term in October with nearly 84 percent of the vote in a poll intended to mark an end to nearly a decade of crises capped by a civil war in 2011.
