Armed Israeli man shoots a Palestinian woman on the spot, after he claimed that she was trying to stab him in Jerusalem’s Old City.
According to Israeli news outlets, the Palestinian woman charged at the man from behind and lightly stabbed him in the upper body with a knife, witnesses standing near Jerusalem’s Lion’s Gate said.
The Israeli man was armed with a gun and shot her from a close range. He and another Israeli man she allegedly stabbed too survived the attack lightly injured while the Palestinian woman is in critical condition.

The Israeli man said the Palestinian woman was a "terrorist" who tried to kill him, according to Maan news agency, the specific condition of the Palestinian woman could not be confirmed, some reports argue her injuries are fatal.
Jerusalem's Old City has been the scene of escalated violence between Israeli and Palestinian sides. Israeli police forces have retaliated the Palestinian protesters for attacking settlers by shooting live ammunition and demolishing Palestinian homes in the West Bank.
Tensions in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem have been exacerbated by the killing last week of two Jewish settlers near the Jewish-only Itamar settlement near the West Bank city of Nablus.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been injured by Israeli gunfire – and two Palestinian youths were killed – over the past three days in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem amid ongoing clashes with Israeli security forces.
“Since Oct. 3, at least 500 Palestinians have been injured in clashes with Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem,” the Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement. “Forty-one Palestinians have been injured by live ammunition, 134 by rubber bullets and 307 by excessive tear gas, while 18 others were beaten.”
