Oscar Pistorius will learn the verdict of his murder trial on Thursday

A South African court on Tuesday granted bail to Oscar Pistorius after he was convicted of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day 2013.

Lusanda Ntuli, a judicial spokeswoman, said on Tuesday that Oscar Pistorius appeared in court for bail following the court decision to convict him.

Last Thursday, the Supreme Court decided to change Pistorius’s sentence to murder instead of culpable homicide which is considered manslaughter in accordance with South African law.

South Africa's "Blade Runner" Oscar Pistorius was found guilty on Thursday of murdering his girlfriend, in an appeal court ruling that could see him being sent back to prison for up to 15 years.

Pistorius already spent one year of a five-year sentence in jail, he was then put under house arrest at his uncle's villa in Pretoria in October.
