Mohannad Orabi fled Syria in 2012 as the country reeled from a deadly civil war. But he tries not to make the war the focus of his work.

Mohannad Orabi left Damascus thinking he would be back within months. But as the war intensified, his return became impossible.

Mohannad Orabi, a Syrian artist, is due to have his work showcased at an exhibition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) soon.      

Orabi fled Syria in 2012 as the country went through a deadly civil war.

Bu, he tries not to make the war the focus of his work.

“I don’t want the Syrian situation to become a project.” he says.
