Forty thousand people are waiting to be let out of the area while six thousand people have fled.

The Syrian regime and the opposition appear to have reached a new deal to evacuate civilians and rebels from the remaining pockets of eastern Aleppo.

Previous deals brokered by Turkey and Russia fell apart after the warring sides blamed each other of violating them. The new agreement also includes the evacuation of four other besieged towns in Syria.
