Before the failed putsch of July 15, Turkey had gone through four coups in recent history.

From the first military intervention in 1960 which led to the execution of Prime Minister Adnan Menderes to the "post-modern coup" in 1997 which resulted in the resignation of Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan, TRT World explores the various circumstances which led to the overthrowing of governments.
