A suspect armed with pump-rifle attacked the Ministry of Justice building located in Turkey’s capital Ankara on Tuesday.
The suspect was detained by police after being immediately neutralised by the security forces located at the ministry.
The assailant has been identified by the initials K.Y. who is 30 year-old man with no previous criminal record and no connections to other organisations.
According to witnesses the assailant approached an additional building of the Justice Ministry at around 1:30 p.m. on June 30 and shot at the building’s signboard with a pump rifle.
The assailant was then taken to the police headquarters while an investigation has been launched into the attack.
The suspect was reported to have attacked the building to protest, as he had suffered depression due to unemployment.
