Yunus Koca was attacked and killed by gunmen in front of his workplace

The former head of Turkey's governing youth branch in Diyarbakir city, Yunus Koca, has been killed in an armed attack in the southeastern city.

Koca, a pharmacist, was attacked by unidentified gunmen in front of his workplace in the town of Yenisehir, Anadolu Agency reported.

The critically wounded victim was taken to hospital but could not be saved despite all medical efforts.

A search operation is underway as police investigate if the incident was terror related.
