Police launched an investigation in the area following the attack on premises of Yeni Safak daily in Istanbul on Feb. 11.

Masked assailants simultaneously attack the offices of two Istanbul dailies, Yeni Safak and Yeni Akit, with molotov bombs and guns early on Thursday morning in Istanbul, according to the security forces.

Five people threw molotov bombs and fired pump-action rifles at Yeni Safak’s building in Istanbul’s Bayrampasa District on the European side, said police.

The other group attacked the Yeni Akit building with similar weapons in Istanbul’s Kucukcekmece District, also on the European side of Istanbul.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned the attacks and offered his well wishes to the employers.

Police reported that several vehicles in the parking area were damaged in the attack.

No deaths or injuries were reported in either incident. A small-scale fire was extinguished at the Yeni Safak building.

The suspects have fled the area. Police sealed off the premises and launched an investigation into both incidents.
