Two civilians died on Tuesday when IED bomb planted in a car by PKK terrorists went off in Uludere town of southeastern Sirnak Province.
The attack in Uludere town also left one other passenger heavily wounded, Turkish security forces said, adding that an investigation had been launched into the incident.
7 Turkish security officers died in 48 hours
Meanwhile, at least seven Turkish security officers died in several PKK terror attacks carried out in southeastern provinces within the last 48 hours.
With the latest incidents, the number of Turkish security forces who have died since the beginning of this year has reached 63.
On Tuesday, a Turkish police officer, Tayfun Yuce, succumbed to his injuries sustained in a Feb. 1 attack by PKK terrorists in southeastern Turkey, health sources said.
The 24-year-old police officer was severely wounded when a roadside bomb planted by the terrorists went off in the southeastern town of Idil in Sirnak province.
On the same day, a soldier, Hasan Talay, died of injuries sustained in a Feb. 1 attack by PKK terrorists in the southeastern district of Sur in Diyarbakir province, the Turkish military said on Tuesday.
Both the soldier and the police officer have been treated in a hospital in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The loss of lives continued as a police officer, Osman Yurt, and a soldier, Vedat Dolancay, died in southeastern Sirnak's Cizre district, which has been the focus of counter-terror operations and military curfews since December 2015.
Another police officer, Mehmet Gungordu, died in Sirnak province when PKK terrorists attacked an armored police vehicle with rocket launchers.
Meanwhile, a Koycegiz gendarmerie border post in Sirnak's Idil district was attacked by a group of PKK terrorists who fired with rocket launchers and long-barreled weapons late Tuesday evening, according to the Turkish armed forces.
A soldier, Arif Subasoglu, was wounded and rushed to Sirnak State Hospital by helicopter. However, he could not be saved despite medical efforts.
Another soldier, Fatih Yasar, also died in Sur district of southeastern Diyarbakir Province during an armed clash with PKK terrorists.
The PKK - recognised as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU -- renewed its armed campaign against the Turkish state in late July 2015.
Since then, more than 300 members of the security forces have died and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
According to latest figures released by Turkish Armed Forces, the total number of PKK terrorists killed during anti-terror operations is 575 in Cizre as of Feb. 8.
