Young man dies at hospital after attempted to suicide with grabbing gun from security officer at entrance of Huber Presidential Palace in Istanbul

Police increase security measures around the Huber Presidential Palace in Istanbul following the incident on Nov. 2, 2015.

A young man lost his life at the hospital following an attempted to suicide on Monday at the entrance of Huber Presidential Palace in Tarabya district of Istanbul.

A statement made by the presidency said that the suspect initially tried to enter the palace by force.

Struggling with security officers, the young man grabbed the gun from an officer and attacked the police present there.

According to the statement, he later attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head.

The heavily injured man was rushed to hospital and died later on Monday.

An investigation was launched into the incident.

Media claimed that the young man had a criminal record which included drug use, sexual assault and offense of libel. The young may had been mentally unstable.

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan reportedly was not at the residence during the incident.
