PKK terrorists opened fire on two officers stationed in front of the provincial headquarters of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in Diyarbakir's Kayapinar District on Thursday. Two police officers were wounded in the attack.
According to local sources, the PKK terrorists ran away after police officers shot back at them.
After the incident the two policemen were taken to hospital and unused flame thrower was found near the scene.
The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the EU, the US and NATO.
Over 100 security officers have been killed in militant attacks by the PKK and two officers have been killed by ISIS since the Suruc suicide bombing attack in Turkey’s southeastern Sanliurfa Province on July 20, widely thought to have been carried out by ISIS.
