Governorate officials announced that a military hospital in the Tatvan district of Bingol province was attacked with long-ranged weapons by the PKK terrorists on Sunday.
Security forces immediately turned their attacks on the PKK terrorists, however they escaped from the scene.
PKK is listed as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, NATO, the US and EU.
In another incident in Bitlis province, the PKK terrorists fired mines on the highway as military vehicles were passing, on Monday.
No casualties have been reported in the incidents, security forces announced.
Detailed investigations have been launched for both incidents according to security forces.
Two militants sent to prison over Diyarbakir murders
Two PKK terrorists were sent to prison on Monday by the Turkish court in Turkey’s southeastern province of Diyarbakir over the murders of a police officer and civilian.
Police officer Mehmet Uyar and a civilian, Osman Caran, were killed in an armed attack by alleged PKK terrorists on Wednesday in Turkey’s Diyarbakir province.
Provincial security directorate of Diyarbakir stated that two militants were detained, after investigations were conducted on the car allegedly used in the incident.
“The suspects, A.T. and C.K., were captured in the operation conducted in Cinar district and sent to prison after taken to the court.” the directorate stated.
Final farewell to soldiers in their hometowns
Three soldiers who were killed in terror attacks by the PKK terrorists were buried in their hometowns.
Gendarmerie Baris Akbayak who was killed in a mine attack directed toward a military vehicle in Mardin province of Turkey early on Sunday was buried in his hometown in southern Antalya province of Turkey.
An abundance of bureaucrats and political figures attended the funeral, such as Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci and former chair and Antalya Deputy of Republican Peoples’ Party (CHP) Deniz Baykal.
PKK terrorists killed a non-commissioner officer, Ali Gokce on Saturday afternoon with a hidden mine explosive in the eastern town of Kagizman in Kars province of Turkey. Gokce’s funeral took place in his hometown in eastern Adana province of Turkey on Sunday.
The father of the Gokce said “we will not leave our county to terrorists even though my son has gone now.”
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, Osmaniye governor Kerem Al and some other bureaucrats attended the funeral.
