Injured police officers were rushed to the hospital in Turkey's Igdir

The PKK terrorists on Tuesday attacked a police bus in Turkey’s eastern province of Igdir, killing 13 Turkish policemen according to Turkish media.

The attack hit the police bus carrying policemen who were escorting customs officials working at Dilucu Border Gate located in Turkey’s Azerbaijan border province of Igdir.

PKK terrorists detonated the improvised explosive device (IED) previously placed on the road while the bus was passing.

Following the bombing, a large scale operation was launched in the region to find the assailants.

The terror attack came after Turkey’s air strikes against PKK targets in North Iraq, two days after a terror attack killed 16 soldiers in Turkey's southeastern province of Hakkari.

With today’s incident, at least 106 Turkish security officials have been killed in terror attacks carried out by the militant group and its affiliates since the PKK’s umbrella organisation, the Group of Communities in Kurdistan (KCK) ended ceasefire with the Turkish government on July 11.
