Local sources reported that PKK terrorists placed an improvised explosive device in a kindergarten in Turkey’s southeastern province of Sirnak on Monday.

The terrorists reportedly attempted to use children as human shields against security forces who arrived at the scene upon notice.

The outlawed PKK attacked the policemen with long barreled weapons, injuring one police officer.

After relocating children to a safe area, the police launched an operation to seize the terrorists.

A total number of 87 terrorists were killed in Sirnak during recent anti terror operations over the last six days.

Security forces also seized a great deal of ammunition and weapons belonging to the PKK in the province.

PKK terror attacks have killed more than 180 security officials and over 30 civilians in Turkey since the group’s umbrella organisation, the KCK, unilaterally ended a two and a half year-long ceasefire with the government on July 11 and threatened Turkey with attacks.
