One Turkish policemen who had been injured in a PKK terror attack in Cizre district in Turkey's Sirnak province died at the hospital on Thursday after struggling for his life for three weeks.

The policeman Emre Akbas and several of his colleagues got injured in the southeastern province of Sirnak when PKK terrorists attacked the vehicle carrying them with rocket launchers three weeks ago. 

The family of 24-year-old policeman burst into tears upon hearing the death of Akbas at the military hospital in Ankara.

The PKK is listed as terrorist organisation by Turkey as well as NATO, the US and EU.

With this incident, the number of security officials killed in PKK terror attacks has risen to 133 since the PKK’s umbrella organisation, the KCK, unilaterally ended a two-year-long ceasefire with the government on July 11.
