Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday prevented a man from committing suicide on the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul.
Officials reported that the man was attempting to jump off the bridge while the presidential convoy was passing over the bridge.
The convoy stopped at the request of President Erdogan and his security guards approached the man.
After being convinced by the security guards, the man turned away from his attempt and asked to speak with President Erdogan.
The president talked with the man for a while and ordered authorities to help the man with the problems he had that drove him to contemplating suicide.
The reports said that the man was from Turkey's eastern Siirt province and was having family problems.
