A Turkish public prosecutor's office has said on Wednesday that police detained two DAESH terrorists suspected of planning to carry out a suicide bomb attack during New Year celebrations in Turkey’s capital of Ankara.
The suspects were allegedly planning to carry out the attacks at two different points in the city.
The two were identified as M.C and A.Y, males of Turkish nationality.
The police also seized suicide bomb vests and bomb set-ups reinforced with steel balls and rods during the operation.
The suspects were brought to Ankara Police Department Counter Terrorism Branch to be interrogated.
The interrogations of the suspects reportedly still continue.
