The votes of Turkish citizens living in the United States and Europe were sent to Turkey on Monday night to be counted in Turkey’s June 7 general elections.

Turkish citizens residing in the US were able to vote at offices of Turkey that offer consular services throughout the country.

The sacks that hold the votes were delivered to diplomatic couriers under the supervision of representatives of Turkey’s political parties and sent back via a Turkish Airlines flight. The representatives will be delivering the sacks to the Supreme Election Board (YSK).

Also, the votes from Germany were also sent to Turkey.

Turkey’s citizens living abroad had been voting for over 20 days and are still eligible to vote at airports in Turkey until June 7.

The votes from Sweden, Denmark and England are expected to arrive as well.
