Turkish security forces carry out operations against the hideouts of the PKK terror organization in mountainous areas of Cukurca district of Hakkari province.

Turkish General Staff announced on Monday that 13 PKK terrorists were killed during air strikes carried out in the last 24 hours in southeastern province of Hakkari.

The statement issued by the army said that “a total of 13 separatist terror organization PKK members were neutralized” in an air operation in Hakkari’s Cukurca district.

Moreover , the statement said that security forces detained one PKK suspect in eastern province of Agri, also they seized explosive devices and a good deal of ammunitions belonging to PKK in southeastern Sirnak province.

Additionally, during anti-terror operations in Ercis district of Van, security forces seized several weapons and one rocket launcher on Sunday.

Meanwhile, media reports stated that there is a still an ongoing operation supported by helicopters against PKK in Cukurca district.

PKK, which is listed as a terror organisation by Turkey, US and EU, has killed over 150 security officials and over 30 civilians since the PKK’s umbrella organisation, KCK, unilaterally ended a two-year-long ceasefire with the government on July 11.

Turkish security forces have intensified anti-terror operations against the terrorist group and recently inflicted heavy losses on the PKK.
