Statement released by Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) said “three soldiers martyred by PKK terrorists during security operations” near Daglica village of southeastern province of Hakkari.

In addition, TAF informed that six other soldiers have been injured, one of them is in critical condition.

In the statement, TAF said, “On October 17, 2015, our three brave fellow soldiers were martyred in clashes that occurred during operations carried out around Daglica area. One of them being in critical condition, six other brave soldiers are wounded.”

Media reports said, one of the soldiers “martyred” is a lieutenant colonel and the other two are sergeants.

Noting that the clashes are still continuing, TAF stated that 17 PKK terrorists have been eliminated in the clashes.

The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the US, EU and the UK.

PKK terror attacks have killed 145 security officials and over 30 civilians since the PKK’s umbrella organisation, the KCK, unilaterally ended a two-year-long ceasefire with the government on July 11.
