Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu attended Small Group Ministerial meeting of International Coalition on fight against ISIS, held in Paris on Tuesday.
Cavusoglu said they urged on the meeting that ISIS can not be halted by air strikes and Syrian regime provides aerial support to ISIS.
The coalition members hold talks about the ongoing case in fight against ISIS and reviewed the steps, taken in fight against ISIS. They also negotiated about the roles of each other to play in a US-led coalition.
Cavusoglu pointed out the coalition members made a significant cooperation over the issue of foreign fighters in the meeting.
Cavusoglu said ISIS moves along Syria and Iraq and the trouble in both countries hasn’t arrived a solution yet.
‘’We have been saying since the beginning ISIS can’t be halted by air strikes. Today one more time we strongly urged on this issue and we said in a clear manner about the difficulties Iraq faces despite it’s new prime minister, Abadi’s determination to gain the trust of all sections of society, but still some political forces that remain from the former term prevents him,’’ said Cavusoglu.
The international community accelerated diplomatic efforts in the region holding negotiations earlier this month to establish a strategy in the fight against ISIS.
The coalition forces have hit more than 3,000 ISIS targets to halt its advance so far.
