One police officer died and four others were injured during clashes with PKK terrorists on Thursday in the southeastern Turkish province of Sirnak.
The clashes erupted after PKK terrorists attacked a patrolling police vehicle.
The injured policemen were taken to hospital.
The PKK is considered to be a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the US and the EU. The terrorist group resumed its armed campaign in July after ending a two-year ceasefire with the government.
Since then, more than 200 Turkish security personnel have died. Meanwhile, 1,700 PKK terrorists have been killed in anti-terror operations.
