Several guns as well as rocket launcher ammunition were seized on Sunday by Turkish security forces when they stopped a suspected car in Elbeyli District of the Turkish border town Kilis.
A comprehensive investigation was launched into the incident and the weapons and ammunition are thought to belong to ISIS due to the Arabic script written on them.
Gendarmerie forces detained total of four suspected ISIS militants including two Syrian nationals in relation to the incident.
On Sept. 17, total of 33 people suspected of trying to join ISIS were also detained by Turkish security officers in Elbeyli District.
Kilis is located across from the ISIS-held Syrian district of Azez and ISIS militants have been attempting to use the town to pass into Turkey and smuggle arms.
On July 23, a Turkish soldier, Yalcin Nane, were killed and two others were wounded by shots fired from an ISIS held border town in Syria near Kilis.
The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) have been stationed along the border and many military vehicles including tanks, air defence systems, armoured combat vehicles, and military personnel were moved into Kilis.
