Turkish Security Council says fight against terror continues

Turkey’s National Security Council (MGK) issues statement after meeting saying Turkey’s fight against terrorist groups will continue

The meeting gathered under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 21, 2015.

Turkish National Security Council (MGK) on Wednesday issued a written statement after a six-hour long meeting, saying that important domestic and foreign issues were discussed, including the Ankara bombing, fight against terrorism and Russian and Iranian policy in the region and as well as in Syria.

The meeting was presided over by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex, located in Bestepe neighbourhood of Turkey’s capital Ankara.

According to the statement the comprehensive investigation launched after the Ankara bombing is still ongoing, the statement emphasised that “Turkey’s operations against terrorist groups that target nation’s will to live together and country’s peaceful atmosphere will be proceed with determination.”

The statement also said that recent violations of Turkey’s airspace and current developments in Syria were also discussed.
